Downtown Arts District
The DOWNTOWN ARTS DISTRICT is located in the heart of Santa Fe. The Downtown Arts + Museum District is within walking distance from most of the city’s major hotels. Here, in this area on and surrounding the Plaza, you’ll find more than 75 participating galleries and museums of the Santa Fe Art Experience.
A popular and must-see is the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum, dedicated to the life, art and legacy of Georgia O'Keeffe.
Nearby, The New Mexico Museum of Art houses a collection of American art with an emphasis on artists working in the Southwest. It is known for its extensive collections of the Taos Society of Artists and Los Cinco Pintores. The museum also features an important collection of Georgia O’Keeffe paintings; works by the great woodblock printmaker and painter Gustave Baumann and American photographers.
At the Palace of the Governors, you will find a colorful display of American Indian artists selling their wares under its historic portal as part of the Native American Artisans Program.
